23:10 CET - In the basketball host nation France have lost their first match of the competition and it is a reality-check against the impressive German's. Germany came out on top 85-71 in a dominant win.
23:01 CET - A frantic semi-final between two ever-growing enemies has been won by host natiosn France! They knock out Argentina to get some revenge for the World Cup final after an early Jean-Philippe Mateta goal helped them to a 1-0 win.
And it has all kicked off after the game with both sets of players scrapping with each other. This may not be an official France men vs Argentina men encounter but there is no doubting it has added fuel to the fire of a rivalry which could reach boiling point at the 2026 World Cup.
22:50 CET - Czech Republic have won mixed doubles gold in dramatic fashion! The on and off the court couple of Tomas Machac (23) and Katerina Siniakova (28) have completed a golden love story with final victory over China's Zhizhen Zhang (27) and Xinyu Wang (22)!
They Czech couple won 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 after a thrilling deciding tie-break.
22:08 CET - Over to the men's football quarter-finals and third of three last eight matches has finished. Egypt were victorious and booked their place in the semi-finals after a tense 5-4 penalty shootout win over Paraguay!
The final quarter-final is into the second half as hosts France lead bitter rivals Argentina 1-0.
22:00 CET - In the women's BMX final, a dramatic race was won by Australia's Saya Sakakibara who was too quick for the Dutch rider of Manon Veenstra (silver) and Switzerland's Zoe Claessens (bronze).
21:55 CET - Paitence is always the key in long distance running and it was Uganda's Joshua Cheptegi who showed more paitence than anyone else to take a thrilling gold medal in the 10,000m final. In a fast and frantic race in which the Ethiopian's went out the traps too quick, Cheptegi was calulated and waited for his moment to attack and when he did there was simply no catching him.
Ethiopia's Berihu Aregawi had a late burst of speed to claim silver, a photo finish ahead of USA's Grant Fisher in bronze.
21:50 CET- Hungary have won gold in the Olympic men's epee team fencing event after defeating Japan in the final with a tight 26-25 victory.
21:37 CET - Incredible result for the host nation in the men's BMX final with a French, one, two, three! Joris Daudet took an early lead and never looked back to take gold ahead of Sylvian Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze).

21:10 CET - Serbian star Novak Djokovic (37) was in superb form as he claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Italian Lorenzo Musetti (22). He will now face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in a mouthwatering final this Sunday.
21:05 CET - A little while ago the epee team fencing bronze medal match came to a conclusion as Czechia came from behind to upset the home crowd and defeat France 43-41 in a thrilling encounter.
20:52 CET - Is there any stopping French superstar Leon Marchand? He claims a stunning gold, his fourth of the games, in the men's 200m Individual Medley ahead of GB's Duncan Scott and China's Wang Shun. Unstoppable Superhero.
20:45 CET - The gold's just keep on coming for Australia in the pool! This time it is Kaylee McKeown who comes out on top in the women's 200m backstroke final to complete the double-double in Tokyo and Paris! She was too quick for USA's Regan Smith who takes silver and Canada's Kylie Masse who claims bronze.
20:35 CET - Over to the pool and drama! Australia's Cameron McEvoy has just edged out GB's Benjamin Proud in the men's 50m freestyle final to take gold. Proud takes home silver and Frenchman Florent Manaudou claims bronze in front of the home support.
20:28 CET - Ivan Litvinovich of Belarus has taken a stunning gold medal after a fautless performance in the Trampoline final! His score of 63.090 was too good for the Chinese duo of Ziasi Wang and Langyu Yan. Wang took silver with a score of 61.890 and Yan took bronze ahead of GB's Zak Perzamanos with 60.950.
19:29 CET - The United States broke their own world record in the 4x400 mixed relay in the opening heats at the Olympics, crossing the line in three minutes 7.41 seconds. They set the previous mark of 3:08.80 at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
18:58 CET - Spain cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Japan in the men's football to set up a semi-final meeting with Morocco.
18:18 CET - French judo legend Teddy Riner continues to add to his legacy, beating South Korea's Kim Min-jong in the men's +100kg final. It is his fourth-ever Olympic gold medal. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's Alisher Yusupov clinched bronze.
17:47 CET - Brazilian Beatriz Souza won the gold medal in the women's over 78kg category in judo at the Olympics.
Raz Hershko of Israel took silver, while France's Romane Dicko and Kim Ha-yun of South Korea were awarded bronze.
17:28 CET - Chinese pair Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong performed a demolition job on South Korea in the mixed doubles badminton final, winning 21-8, 21-11 to clinch gold. Japan's Arisa Higashino and Yuta Watanabe earned bronze.
17:18 CET - South Korea have successfully defended their Olympic title in the mixed team archery event after beating Germany 6-0 in the final. The USA claimed bronze after victory over India.
17:05 CET - Morocco are the first team into the men's football semi-finals after an emphatic 4-0 victory against the USA.

16:15 CET - Taiwan's double world champion Lin Yu-ting, one of two boxers at the heart of a gender row, won her featherweight round of 16 bout against Uzbekistan's Sidora Turdibekova on points by unanimous decision at the Paris Olympics.
The 28-year-old Taiwanese, along with Algerian boxer Imane Khelif who won her round of 16 welterweight fight on Thursday against Italy's Angela Cariniin 46 seconds, have been in the spotlight of the gender row after being cleared to compete in the Olympics.
Both had been disqualified at the 2023 World Championships after failing International Boxing Association eligibility rules that prevent athletes with male XY chromosomes from competing in women's events.
The boxing competition in Paris is run by the International Olympic Committee after it stripped the IBA's international recognition in 2023 over governance and finance issues, and the IOC has said that women have every right to compete in Paris.
15:42 CET - Great Britain have won their ninth gold medal of the Games, coming out on top in the equestrian team jumping. The USA claimed silver, while home nation France picked up bronze.
15:22 CET - French judoka legend Teddy Riner raised his level to book a spot in the semi-finals of the men's +100kg category, beating Georgia's Guram Tushishvili at the Paris Games to stay on course for a fourth Olympic gold medal.
15:07 CET - Carlos Alcaraz has underlined his credentials as the favourite for the men's singles title, thrashing Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-finals this afternoon. The Spaniard will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti in Sunday's gold medal match.
14:29 CET - Great Britain's Bryony Page has produced the performance of her life to win Olympic gold in the women's trampoline final. Belarusian Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya was forced to settle for second while Sophiane Methot picked up the bronze medal for Canada.
13:50 CET - Spain's Diego Botin & Florian Trittel have claimed gold in the men's skiff medal race, with New Zealand finishing second on overall points and the USA taking bronze.

12:28 CET - Slovakia swimmer Tamara Potocka is under medical assessment after collapsing following her women's 200 metres individual medley heat at the Paris Olympics on Friday, a venue official has said.
Medical staff rushed to assist Potocka and carried her away from the pool-side on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on her face after she finished seventh in the third heat of the event in the morning session at La Defense Arena.

10:39 CET - Chiara Leone has won gold for Switzerland in the women's 50m rifle three positions, scoring an Olympic record 464.4. The USA's Sagen Maddalena took silver while China's Zhang Qiongyue claimed bronze.
