Harriet Dart is expected to have a breeze against a wildly inexperienced 17-year-old wildcard in the first round.
Match News and Form
Harriet Dart had a few weeks of rest after her exhausting US Open campaign in which she survived four consecutive three-set matches en route to the second round. The Brit knocked out two straight-set wins here in Beijing and qualified for the main draw while playing in only her second tournament outing.
Qu Yihan is a teenager who barely has any professional experience under her belt. The 17-year-old has spent most of the calendar year competing in junior tournaments, leading to a title at J300 Beijing in September, a quarterfinal at Wimbledon and a top-20 breakthrough.
Head to Head
This will be their first meeting.
Stats and Facts
Harriet Dart lost to Clara Tauson in the first round in her only previous appearance in Beijing last year.
Dart has recorded only a single WTA main-draw win in the last two years when she beat Liudmila Samsonova at Queen's Club this summer.
Qu Yihan could not win a match in her only previous WTA appearances at the qualifying level in Beijing in 2024 and in Ningbo last year.
Qu is yet to defeat a top-500 player in her young career.
Betting Analysis
This should be nothing but a walk in the park for the British player. It is entirely possible that Harriet Dart will sprint into the second round at the loss of only a handful of games.
