Diggs spent last season in New England with the Patriots, where had a 1,000-yard year for the seventh time in the last eight years.
According to reports, Diggs is signing a one-year deal with the Commanders with a total package of $12 million when including incentives.
Back in May, Diggs was acquitted by a jury of assaulting his private chef in an event that supposedly took place in December. The NFL did not suspend the 32-year-old for the incident, claiming a month later that there was not enough evidence of any violations.
Coming back from a torn ACL, Diggs had a solid 2025 year, catching 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in the 17 games he took part in. The Patriots went all the way to the Super Bowl before falling 29-13 to the Seattle Seahawks. New England then cut him in March after just one season out of a three-year, $63.5 million deal.
Throughout his time in the league, Diggs played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2015 to 2019 before joining the Buffalo Bills in 2020. He made the Pro Bowl in all four of his seasons with the Bills before departing for the Houston Texans in 2024.
Before his move to New England, the former Maryland WR had 942 catches for 11,504 yards and 74 touchdowns across 161 regular season matches.
Diggs joins a Commanders team under the leadership of third-year quarterback Jayden Daniels. Washington's wide receiver core group also includes Terry McLaurin, Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey, and Dyami Brown.
