Follow every AFL off-season move from trades to free agency

Keep up to date with every confirmed move during the AFL free agency and trade period during the 2026/27 off-season.

When are the free agency and trade windows open?

The free agency period runs from 9:00am on Friday 2nd October to 5:00pm Friday 9th October.

AFL Trade Week runs from 9:00am on Monday 5th October to 7:30pm on Wednesday 14th October.

There will then be an additional free agency period for delisted players only from 9:00am on Monday 2nd November to 5:00pm on Friday 6th November, allowing clubs another opportunity to top up their list with uncontracted players.

Friday 2nd October

Joel Amartey: Sydney to Carlton (free agency)

Sydney receives Pick 36 as compensation

Toby Greene: GWS to Geelong (free agency)

GWS receives Pick 26 as compensation

Lachie Neale: Brisbane to Collingwood (free agency)

Brisbane receives Pick 39 as compensation

Kieren Briggs: GWS to Richmond (free agency)

GWS receives Pick 46 as compensation
