The reason behind Shi Yuqi's decision to withdraw is not yet known.
In the final, Anders Antonsen will meet the winner of the match between home favorite Kunvalut Vitidsarn and Chou Tien Chen from Taiwan.
A year ago, Anders Antonsen was also in the final of the Thailand Open, where he lost to Vitidsarn.
Antonsen has faced Shi Yuqi twice this year and lost both, the latest one at the Thomas Cup quarter-final two weeks ago, when Shi Yuqi humiliated Antonsen in two sets.
The 29-year-old from Aarhus is looking for the 11th title of his career on the BWF World Tour. He is yet to win a trophy in 2026, and in fact Sunday's final is his first on the tour since winning the French Open in October.
Denmark has not won a final in the Thailand Open since Viktor Axelsen's victory in January 2021, but has the chance to be represented in two finals on Sunday.
