Sourdif, 24, put up 15 goals and 20 assists through 78 games last year with the Caps.
The former third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft made his debut during the 2023-2024 season with the Florida Panthers, playing in only three games before playing in just one for the team the following year.
On June 26, 2025, the Caps acquired him in a trade with the Panthers in exchange for a second-round pick (2026) and a seventh-round pick (2027).
Now, he'll be spending a lot more time with teammate Ryan Leonard, who the team signed to an eight-year, $84 million ($10.5 million AAV) deal earlier in the day.
