Carlo Ancelotti (63) could become Brazil's next head coach, according to the Uol portal, pointing out that the Italian coach, currently at Real Madrid, could be Tite's successor after the elimination of the 'Selecao' in the World Cup quarter finals.

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) would like the team to be led by a 'heavyweight coach' such as Ancelotti ahead of the 2026 World Cup, to be held in USA, Mexico and Canada.

In October, before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, CBF emissaries had spoken to Ancelotti, as Tite had already anticipated his resignation regardless of the results.

Ancelotti, for his part, had reportedly shown himself 'open' to dialogue and proposed to go ahead with the talks, but with the condition that he would only settle in Brazil after the end of the current season in Spain, in June 2023.

According to the same source, the Real Madrid coach would be willing to negotiate the termination of his contract with the Spanish team, which expires in 2024. CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues has publicly declared his intention to hire someone outside of Brazil.

Talks have also been initiated with Spaniard Pep Guardiola (51), who would not accept, and others are underway with Abel Ferreira (43), the Portuguese who is currently in charge of the Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Ancelotti has never managed on the international stage, but was assistant manager with the Italian national side for three years in the early 1990s.
