Nico Paz is shining at Como, with his performances under Cesc Fabregas showing why he was right to prioritise his development over an early move elsewhere.

The Argentina international scored and assisted in Como's 3-1 victory over Fiorentina before producing two goals and an assist in a stunning 4-1 win over Manchester United.

His recent exploits will also raise questions about how long Como can keep hold of a player attracting growing interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Paz has flourished under Fabregas, benefiting from the responsibility and regular football that might not have been guaranteed had he played elsewhere at this stage in his career.

Como have provided an ideal environment for his development, and his latest displays suggest that patience is paying off.

Yet Real Madrid retain a significant influence over his future.

Madrid sold Paz to Como in 2024 but activated their option to re-sign him in the summer of 2026 before selling him back to the Italian club.

The Spanish giants have an option to bring the 22-year-old back to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2027 for €80m, giving them a potential route to reclaim a player whose progress is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

Interest from England is also expected to persist. Chelsea have long admired Paz and would welcome the opportunity to sign him, with the financial implications unlikely to deter them from pursuing a deal.

Arsenal are similarly intrigued by his potential as they look to remain competitive for players capable of making a difference at the highest level.

For now, Paz has little reason to rush into another move. His decision to continue working with Fabregas is being vindicated by his performances, while Como are reaping the rewards of giving him a platform to flourish.
