Super-even match for a spot in the semi-finals of the ATP Finals in Turin between Felix Auger-Aliassime, ATP No. 6, and Taylor Fritz, no. 9 in the ranking. It took three sets and 2:47 minutes of play to decide the winner in a match where serves made the difference. Even zero break points in the first set which ended with a 7-4 win for Fritz after a 4-2 lead and 90 % points on the first against 79 % for Aliassime.
The situation was reversed in the second set, where the American's first serve dropped slightly (83 %) while Aliassime's first serve rose (90 %) and in the second game he had three break points but was unable to exploit them. It went to the tie-break and this time it was the Canadian who won with the last decisive mini-break at 6-5.
In the third set Fritz seemed to have more and won four break points at 3-2, Aliassime cancelled three of them but not the fourth, sending a forehand cross-court shot wide that brought Fritz to 4-2. It was the first break of the match. Fritz won the next game to nil and at 5-2, 15-40 on Aliassime's serve, he scored his second break of the match and brought home the victory.
