He was dismissed in the fifth over and the score stood at 62-2 as he departed. He had scored 83% of the runs and faced 70% of the deliveries.
Not everything he hit came off the middle of the bat, but he is powerful enough to get it over the infield and given the powerplay restrictions, it is the best time to tee off like Green.
It was a video game-esque innings and as things stand a video game is the closest he is going to get to the World Cup.
Green was included in the tour to India in place of David Warner (35) was rested, but he will be back for the centrepiece event next month and Green had missed out on selection given his inexperience in the format at international level.
Before this series, he'd played just once in T20Is - scoring just two in Lahore against Pakistan. Given that record, it's easy to see why Australia selected the experience of Warner and Aaron Finch (35) - a partnership that has stood the test of time.
But now, in three innings opening, Green has made this 50-plus score, along with 61 off 30 balls, which saw Australia chase down 210.
This type of form will help you win games and maybe even win tournaments.
Now, the selectors, who have already made their minds up in their 15-man squad, will not be able to call up Green unless injury strikes.
Being an all-rounder, he can fill more roles than most and would be the first cab off the rank if he's called upon.
But given the lack of form at the top of Australia's batting order, thoughts of having Green will come to the fore if Australia get off to a bad start in the competition.
Finch is unlikely to carry on his international career after the World Cup given his barren run of runs, his age and that he has already retired from ODI cricket. That means there will be a spot for Green soon and this may be the only World Cup he misses in green and gold.
Australian fans will hope that they won't rue this come the final in November.
