Aalborg Handball on Thursday evening secured their ninth Danish Championship title when they survived the pressure of a packed NRGI Arena in Aarhus by winning the second leg in the playoffs for the Danish title 35-31 against Skanderborg AGF

History repeated itself when Aalborg Handball on Thursday evening secured their third successive Danish championship title with a 35-31 win against Skanderborg AGF in the second of their final playoff series.

With a 30-29 victory in the bag from the first final match in Aalborg, the visitors knew that another win in the return leg would hand them the Danish title.

The triumph will boost the morale for the defending champions when they head to the Lanxess Arena in Cologne next week to take part in the Champions League Final Four, where they will face Barcelona in the semi-final.
