Flawless SG Flensburg-Handewitt temporarily pulled ahead at the top of the Handball-Bundesliga table on Saturday night. Coach Ales Pajovic's team claimed their third win in their third match against HC Erlangen, putting pressure on their trio of pursuers. Record champions THW Kiel, as well as HBW Balingen-Weilstetten and defending champions SC Magdeburg, can catch up to Flensburg on Sunday.

The leading goal scorer for the SG was Emil Jakobsen with ten goals. On Erlangen's side, both Marek Nissen and Frieder Bandlow each contributed eight points.

In front of around 6,000 spectators, the visitors kept the game balanced at first. As the first half progressed, however, Flensburg increasingly took control, pulling ahead by four goals for the first time through Simon Pytlick and leaving no doubt about their home victory afterwards.
