Real Madrid's 3-1 win over FC Barcelona in El Clasico has not gone down well with the Blaugrana. Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, reportedly went into the referee's dressing room to criticise their work during the game in which Sanchez Martinez did not call a possible penalty against Dani Carvajal on Robert Lewandowski but did signal a penalty in the opposing area for Eric Garcia's trampling of Rodrygo.

Laporta has once again shown his worst side in the aftermath of Sunday's El Clasico.

Unfortunately, the club he presides over is going through a difficult period being practically eliminated from the Champions League and now relegated to second place in LaLiga after the defeat.

Now, the good atmosphere that was in the air a few weeks ago at Barca has all but disappeared.

It must be said, referee Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez passed El Clasico with flying colours - arguably the most difficult match for any referee in Spain.

What's more, he got it right on the two occasions that Laporta allegedly complained about as replays show that there was no penalty from Carvajal on Lewandowski and that Garcia did step on Rodrygo (the doubt would be whether there was an offside or not). So, his protests were not well-founded.

Obviously, this opinion was not shared by the Barcelona president, as Sanchez Martinez wrote in the match report, the following:

Other incidents: Once the match was over and the refereeing team was inside the dressing room, the president of FC Barcelona, Mr Joan Laporta Estruch, entered the dressing room. Joan Laporta Estruch repeatedly asked for explanations about certain situations during the match. In view of these events, he was invited to leave the referees' changing room without further incident.
