16:05 CET: Right then, we are done with the second game today. Netherlands vs Ecuador next. The result will have big implications for both Qatar and Senegal. Second Half
15:59 CET: And that is that. A much better second half to watch. Senegal get the win. Not the best performance I have ever seen, but they got the job done. They are the first African side to win at the World Cup this year. Qatar finally decided to up the ante once they went two goals behind, and showed a lot more courage once they did that. The issue was, they had already dug themselves too deep a hole. If they had shown a bit more intent from the start, could the result have been different? I guess we will never know. The individual mistakes weren't ideal either. Senegal face Ecuador next which could be a monumentally big contest, especially if the Netherlands beat Ecuador, which is the next game up. The Africans will want to be better though, and looked lethargic at times. Qatar are pretty much out though. Should the Dutch avoid defeat, then they will be sent home.
15:54 CET: We are into the second minute of an additional six. Time is nearly up
15:46 CET: That is a killer, killer blow for Qatar. Just when they looked like they were back in the contest, Senegal may have just ended those hopes. Bamba Dieng makes it three with a calm, slotted finish in front of goal from Pape Matar Sarr's cross. That could be that.
15:45 CET: Why, oh why, did Qatar not show more intent like they are now? They're looking so dangerous. Another double sub, this time for the hosts. Pedro Miguel and Ahmed off, Mohammed Waad and Tarek Salman on.

15:37 CET: More subs. Sarr and goalscorer Diedhiou are taken out of the action, with Iliman Ndiaye and Bamba Dieng their replacements.
15:35 CET: Oooh danger again. Khoukhi gets onto the end of a set piece at the back post, his ball across goal is deflected and goes out for a corner. They are going for it now. Perhaps too little, too late.

15:29 CET: GREAT SAVE MENDY! Qatar's best moment of the game, their best chance, and perhaps they should have scored. A wicked cross comes in, as Ismaeel Mohammad directs it towards goal, only for Mendy to make a great reflex save.
15:27 CET: Substitution for Senegal. Diatta is off, Pathe Ciss comes on.
15:25 CET: Almoez Ali now has a chance as his shot from inside the area heads for the bottom corner, but Mendy pokes wide. Qatar are definitely throwing more players forward now. They have to.
15:24 CET: Oh wow, Hassan fires a thunderous shot from around 30 yards which whistles narrowly past the post. Would have been something.
15:11 CET: AND THERE'S YOUR ANSWER! SENEGAL DOUBLE THEIR LEAD AND ARE SURELY, SURELY, ON THEIR WAY TO VICTORY! Diedhiou with a brilliant header from a corner, as he darts toward the near post and flicks the ball back across goal and into the net. Qatar are surely down and well and truly, OUT.
15:08 CET: Can Qatar find a way back into the contest as the second half begins, or will Senegal wrap this match up?
First Half
14:53 CET: That's half time. Not vintage. Senegal have been decent, but not extraordinary. They've had all of the ball, but failed to really create anything, and the goal came from a mistake. They'll want to be a bit more dangerous. Qatar have offered nothing. Their game plan is to sit back and rely on counter attacking via Afif, but they've had little luck so far. Hopefully the second half is a bit more... enjoyable.
14:40 CET: Yep, Senegal take the lead! It has been coming. Horrible mistake from Khoukhi in defence. A cross came into the box, he took a wild kick at the ball whilst falling to the ground, and instead put it on a plate for Boulaye Dia to strike home. Deserved lead.
14:34 CET: Qatar have a big claim for a penalty turned down, as Afif goes down in the area. There looks like there was some contact and the Senegalese player was clumsy, but Afif may have initiated it and thrown himself into the defender first, attempting to win the penalty. If that was given, I doubt that would have been overturned.
14:27 CET: One-way traffic really. Qatar struggling to get a hold of the ball. Senegal with all of the possession, but still yet to open the scoring.
14:24 CET: Neat play from Senegal on the edge of the box, and Gueye fires a low driven shot just wide of the post. Probing.
14:16 CET: Poor goalkeeping from Barsham in goal, as he comes out from a corner but misses the ball, only for Diedhiou to head wide. Diallo and Miguel have taken knocks to the head and are being treated. Both look fine to go on.
14:09 CET: Senegal by far the better team so far, and their fans are in typically good voice.
14:04 CET: Early run from Sarr for Senegal, as he drives into the box. His shot is deflected wide, but the referee gives a goal kick.
