Pirates came from behind to defeat Spanish second-tier side Cadiz, having been held to a draw by Cordoba earlier in the week.
Some poor defending allowed Ibon Sanchez to give Cadiz the lead, but after that the Buccaneers took control of the game.
Tshepang Moremi, who, along with several other players, has now linked up with the squad after their World Cup campaign with Bafana Bafana, rifled in a superb shot from range to make it 1-1.
Pirates made it 2-1 before the break as Daniel Msendami finished from close range.
Nkosinathi Sibisi, Kamogelo Sebelebele and Evidence Makgopa were other Bafana players who played a part in the game, while the side also featured several new signings, such as Neo Rapoo, who forced a fine save from the goalkeeper with a free-kick.
It was not such a good outing for Chiefs, who lost 2-1 to Spanish top-tier side Elche.
They also have their only World Cup participant, Bradley Cross, back in training with the team after a few weeks’ break.
Ali Houary and Umaru Konare had Elche 2-0 up at half-time, but Chiefs responded with another goal from Asanele Velebayi, who has been excellent in pre-season to date.
He came off the bench to score as Chiefs concluded their time in Spain and now look forward to the Toyota Cup game against Zimbabwean side Scottland in Rustenburg next Sunday.
Although the Premier Soccer League has still not officially revealed the fixtures for the new 2026/27 campaign, less than two weeks before it kicks off, Pirates begin their season at home to Milford FC on August 1, while Chiefs travel to Mbombela Stadium to face Kruger United that same evening.
