Juventus drop points to Salernitana after dramatic finish sees Milik and Allegri shown red

A frantic, action-packed finish in Turin saw Juventus draw 2-2 with Salernitana, but the hosts thought they had won it in the 95th minute through substitute Arkadiusz Milik only for VAR to disallow the goal as the striker saw red alongside manager Massimiliano Allegri and Juan Cuadrado - both off the pitch.

While Juve's record looked strong heading into the game, their performances have been far from convincing so far this season, and the visitors could easily have been awarded a penalty inside the opening five minutes when Gleison Bremer appeared to clip the heel of striker Krzysztof Piatek.

The fine margins of football were on view for everyone to see when Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti forced a sharp save from Luigi Sepe, and not longer after Salernitana sprung a surprise when veteran winger Antonio Candreva tapped home at the far post from Pasquale Mazzocchi’s cross to stun the home fans into silence with his team’s first away goal against Juventus.

Playing in their away kit due to a clash with I Granata, Juventus began to look more off colour as the half wore on, and their frustrations weren’t helped when Dusan Vlahovic had a goal ruled out for offside.

Things then went from bad to worse for them in first half stoppage time when Piatek’s shot struck the arm of Bremer inside the area.

The Polish forward will have felt justice was done after his earlier penalty shout when he stepped up and slotted home to give his team an unlikely 2-0 lead at the break.

Juventus knew they needed a fast start to the second half, and they got exactly that when Flilip Kostic’s ball into the area was headed in by the determined Bremer to halve the deficit.

The Turin side were struggling in front of goal, but were handed a late lifeline when Juan Cuadrado was felled in the box.

Leonardo Bonucci stepped up and saw his penalty saved but volleyed in the rebound.

Then in stunning circumstances, the Allianz Stadium erupted when Milik scored a 95th minute winner - or at least he thought he did.

After getting sent off for a second yellow card for ripping his shirt off in the midst of the wild celebrations, the goal was stunningly ruled out for offside after a lengthy VAR review.

This decision caused chaos and two further red cards were shown, firstly to Federico Fazio and then Massimiliano Allegri too.

Following a barely-believable ending, both teams stay as they are in the standings.
