Sirius had gone five matches unbeaten since their mid-season blip, but that run is over as they fell to a fourth defeat this season, while AIK finally ended a six-match winless record in the league and moved up to eighth in the table.
With half an hour gone, the home defence gave Axel Kouame time to set himself from 25 yards out, and he made full use of the chance by arrowing the ball into the bottom corner. However, the Sirius response was swift, as two minutes later a Marcus Lindberg header sent Joakim Persson through on goal, and his effort had enough on it to beat Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
But just before the break, AIK were back in front after Taha Ayari tangled with Mohamed Soumah inside the area when chasing a ball over the top, and Johan Hove buried the resulting penalty low to the goalkeeper's right.
In the second half, Persson was denied by Nordfeldt from close range and headed a corner against the post, before Zalan Vancsa struck the crossbar on a day that just didn't seem to belong to Sirius, while Hove came close to a spectacular second when he hit the bar from 40 yards.
A home game against a side in the relegation zone then looked to be the ideal chance for Djurgarden to put a dent in Sirius' lead, but in managing only a draw, the second-placed side could only reduce the margin down to seven points, while Orgryte moved to within three points of safety.
To make matters worse for the hosts, they were 2-0 up with an hour gone - Bo Hegland sent Jeppe Okkels away in the eighth minute, as he cut in from the left wing and finished in style. Then, 15 minutes after the break, the roles were reversed, as Okkels again cut in off the wing but this time Hegland made an overlapping run, collecting the reverse pass from his teammate and guiding the ball home.
OIS had already come close in the second half, and got themselves a goal they arguably deserved with a quarter of the match to go, as Adam Andersson played a square ball across to William Hofvander, who swept a beautiful first-time, side-foot effort straight into the top corner from 20 yards.
And in the first minute of added time, the comeback was complete, with Andersson again the provider, digging out an inch-perfect cross from the left wing for Viktor Ekblom to head home and extend Orgryte's points total to four in two games, as Djurgarden failed to make it three wins in a row.
Four was the magic number for Hacken, who moved up to fourth with a 4-0 win over Degerfors, their fourth victory in a row. Just one point from their last five matches keeps the visitors in the relegation play-off place.
Remarkably, all four goals came in the first 32 minutes - Gustav Lindgren was played in behind the defence to poke the ball home in the eighth minute, and with a quarter of an hour gone Brice Wembangomo unleashed a rocket from 25 yards that flew into the top corner.
With half an hour approaching, Adrian Svanback drove at the Degerfors defence before squaring to Mikkel Rygaard, who tucked the ball into the bottom corner, and just two minutes later, Rygaard was in the right place to turn home a low centre from Julius Lindberg.
In the second half, the crossbar denied Rygaard a hat-trick, while the post denied Svanback getting in on the act, but Hacken had done more than enough to move with a point of the European places.
Kalmar were unable to build on their win over Degerfors last time and move further clear of their relegation rivals as they were well-beaten by Brommapojkarna, who made it back-to-back away wins despite struggling at home.
Nearing the midpoint of the first half, Kalmar failed to clear their lines and Anton Kurochkin made no mistake in firing the loose ball into the back of the net from 18 yards.
1-0 was how it stayed until the final minutes, when BP caught the hosts on the counter-attack and Wilmer Odefalk raced away from deep inside his own half before keeping his cool with the finish. Soon after, Odefalk added his second by taking Oliver Zanden's ball infield in his stride and catching the goalkeeper out from the edge of the area. The Bromma Boys are 10th, 11 points clear of KFF in 13th.
