TS Galaxy have sacked coach Adnan Beganovic just over a week before the Nedbank Cup final with nine losses in their last 10 Betway Premiership games prompting chairman Tim Sukazi to act, the SABC reports.

Beganovic steered Galaxy to their second Nedbank Cup final, where they will take on Durban City at the Peter Mojaba Stadium in Polokwane on May 2.

But he will not be in the dugout, and with the club yet to comment on the matter, it is unclear who will be, though former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker could be elevated from assistant.

Galaxy’s worrying run of league form has placed them in possible relegation peril, though they remain five points above the play-off position and six points ahead of Orbit College in the automatic relegation place.

It seems unlikely The Rockets will go down, but with a crucial clash against fellow strugglers Magesi FC on Sunday, Sukazi has decided to act.

Beganovic took over from Sead Ramovic in November 2024 having himself been elevated from the assistant coach role. But having taken only one point from the last 30 available, a draw at Stellenbosch FC, he has been shown the door.

Galaxy also have league games against another struggler in Marumo Gallants, (away), Chippa United (home), title-chasing Mamelodi Sundowns (home) and Lamontville Golden Arrows (away).
