Goalkeeper
Ronald Koeman Jr. (Telstar) - 7.3
Now, let me explain. He's not the highest-rated this week, but just this once, I'm overruling the system. Ronald Koeman Jr. scored twice against Cambuur. TWICE. I can't overlook that.
The actual highest-rated goalkeeper this weekend was Excelsior's Stijn van Gassel, who assisted a goal and kept a clean sheet with two saves, which earned him a 7.9 rating.
Defenders
Casper Widell (Excelsior) - 8.6
Casper Widell was awesome against Willem II. Excelsior won 3-0 and secured a third straight Eredivisie away win, their longest streak in club history. Widell had a big part in that, winning a stunning 14 of 17 aerial duels and recording 18 clearances and 2 blocks. Superb game.
Rick Meissen (Excelsior) - 8.3
Next to Widell, Rick Meissen had a good night by scoring his first professional goal in his 86th appearance. He also had a game-high 2 interceptions, 9 clearances, and completed 33 of 37 passes.
Lutsharel Geertruida (PSV) - 8.3
Geertruida started his first game for PSV this past weekend and was trusted to start against title contenders Ajax. The RB Leipzig loanee repaid Peter Bosz's trust by winning all 3 of his duels, 2 of which were completed tackles. Completing 70 of 73 passes was decent, too, but not as decent as that ridiculous goal he scored to give PSV the lead on the cusp of half-time.
Midfielders
Irakli Yegoian (Excelsior) - 9.1
Since joining Excelsior from Vitesse early last season, Irakli Yegoian has been an excellent addition to Ruben den Uil's squad. After already being involved in three goals in as many games in the Eredivisie, Yegoian added another goal and assist to his season's tally in a fantastic game for Excelsior.
Gjivai Zechiel (Feyenoord) - 9.3 (PotW)
Gjivai Zechiel has been nothing short of spectacular for Feyenoord this season. In a week filled with transfer worries surrounding Ayase Ueda and Anis Hadj Moussa, Zechiel once again took his team by the hand with one goal and two assists in Feyenoord's 3-1 away win at NEC Nijmegen.
Zechiel created four total chances, completed three dribbles, and won possession five times. Another fine display for our Player of the Week.
Darko Nejasmic (NEC Nijmegen) - 8.8
Darko Nejasmic took care of a quick answer to Gjivai Zechiel's opener against NEC, scoring a screamer from outside the box. The Croatian was everywhere on the pitch, however, recording the most passes into the final third (28), winning 6 possessions, blocking 1 shot, and the second-most touches of all NEC players (78).
Peer Koopmeiners (AZ) - 8.8
AZ are flying out of the gate. They've won every game so far and keeping captain Peer Koopmeiners on board has been massive. In his side's 3-2 away win over Heerenveen, Koopmeiners completed 59 of 60 passes and won 5 of 7 duels to stay in total control in midfield.
Forwards
Mohammed Ihattaren (Fortuna Sittard) - 8.7
Sunday was the big Mohammed Ihattaren Show in The Hague. Posted on the right wing, Ihattaren delivered a beautiful cross for Lequincio Zeefuik to head in and scored two goals, one of which was a belter into the top corner. Being involved in all three of your team's goals in a 3-2 win will get you a good rating, and he did just that.
Milan Zonneveld (Sparta Rotterdam) - 8.6
It feels like Milan Zonneveld scored a legal and offside goal every week. He did that in Sparta's 2-2 draw with PEC Zwolle as well, but also made a big difference with a goal and assist for Isaac Babadi's 2-1. Overall, Zonneveld took 5 shots, created two big chances, and won 6 of 12 aerial duels.
Luciano Valente (Feyenoord) - 8.6
Posted on the left wing in Anis Hadj Moussa's absence, captain Luciano Valente delivered another great performance. The natural midfielder scored a good goal after a quick counter, completed the most passes in the final third, and created a big chance in Feyenoord's 3-1 win.
