Holse recorded the second-fastest hat trick from the start of a match in MLS history and became the fifth player in MLS history to record a hat trick inside 30 minutes.
Holse, who previously played for FC Copenhagen, had already completed his hat-trick after 21 minutes of play. Holse opened his account in the second minute, converting a cross from his strike partner, Rafael Navarro.
Five minutes later, Navarro played a through-ball to Holse, who fired it home to make it 2–0.
Holse completed his hat-trick in the 21st minute, controlling the ball with his chest before immediately slotting it into the net to make it 3–0.
Navarro also scored two goals in the match, which ended with a lopsided scoreline. Holse was substituted off in the 81st minute.
With these goals, Holse has reached a tally of six goals in ten games for St. Louis City following his summer move from the Turkish club Samsunspor.
Holse played for Samsunspor for three seasons, scoring 22 goals in 114 matches.
Prior to that, he played for the Norwegian club Rosenborg, where he recorded 24 goals in 123 matches.
The 27-year-old Holse came up through the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen, making 46 appearances and scoring four goals for the first team. He also had a brief loan spell at Esbjerg before embarking on his career abroad.
In June 2025, Holse made his national team debut under Brian Riemer, coming on as a late substitute in a 5–0 friendly win over Lithuania.
