Mikkel Damsgaard and William Osula were on target as Brentford and Newcastle recorded important wins Saturday afternoon in their efforts to qualify for Europe and stay clear of relegation. Also Udinese's Thomas Kristensen scored one of his rare goals as Udinese overcame Torino.

Danish international playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard contributed to Brentford securing a 3-0 win at home against West Ham to leave the Hammers in danger of being pushed back into the relegation zone if Tottenham should win their match against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Damsgaard put the icing on the cake for "The Bees" eight minutes from the end when he turned sharply in the box before steering the ball into the bottom corner past West Ham's Danish international keeper Mads Hermansen to make it 3-0 for the home side.

22-year-old Danish international striker William Osula was included in the Newcastle starting lineup for the fifth successive time when Newcastle took on Brighton at St. James Park.

And it didn't take Osula long to deliver as he gave the home side the lead after 12 minutes when Brighton stopper Bart Verbruggen flew out of his goal, but slipped, and thus allowed Jacob Murphy to cross onto the head of Osula, who had the simplest of tasks to head into an empty net.

Osula was replaced after 68 minutes with Yoane Wissa as Newcastle went on to secure a 3-1 win to snap a five-match losing run.

It's not often that Danish central defender Thomas Kristensen finds the back of the net, but he did just that on Saturday afternoon to help Udinese move into the top half of Serie A after a relatively routine 2-0 victory over Torino.

After Kingsley Ehizibue had put Udinese ahead on the stroke of halftime, Kristen doubled the lead six minutes after the interval when he glanced a superb header into the far corner from Lennon Miller’s delivery.
