Paris Saint-Germain are considering whether they need to step up their interest in Ayyoub Bouaddi, as the Lille teenager's stock continues to rise at the World Cup.

The French champions have been closely monitoring Bouaddi and, with competition for his signature growing across Europe, are assessing whether they may need to accelerate their intent this summer.

The 18-year-old midfielder is attracting significant attention and produced an impressive display for Morocco in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Brazil.

Bouaddi will be under the spotlight again when Morocco face Scotland on Friday. Current club Lille are watching closely as they prepare for enquiries from several leading clubs who have continued to track his progress.

His performance against Brazil only reinforced his reputation as one of the most highly-rated young players in European football.

The teenager showcased the composure, technical quality and maturity that have made him such a coveted talent.

The growing interest does not come as a surprise to Lille, where Bouaddi has continued his development over the past 12 months and established himself as one of the club's most valuable assets.

Scouts from several elite clubs regularly attended Lille matches throughout the season, with Arsenal now confirmed among the sides most closely monitoring his progress.

Sources say the Premier League club are huge admirers of the qualities that have allowed Bouaddi to establish himself at the highest level at such a young age. Liverpool also have an eye on the player, we understand.

Lille recently moved to strengthen their own position by tying the midfielder down to a new contract, a move designed to protect their negotiating stance and maximise any future transfer fee.

Despite that extension, a summer departure cannot be ruled out. Lille are aware that sustained interest from Europe's biggest clubs could make it difficult to retain the teenager if an offer matching their valuation arrives.

Bouaddi is believed to be valued at around £60 million, a figure that reflects both his current level and his enormous potential. However, that figure will rise if enough clubs actively enter the picture.

PSG's interest remains particularly significant given their determination to secure top, young French-based talent. As Bouaddi continues to impress on the World Cup stage, the Ligue 1 champions are weighing up whether they will have to act decisively to avoid missing out to a Champions League rival.

They would be willing to wait one more year to sign him if it were possible, but they need to consider the circumstances that will dictate how things shape up.

With a host of other European heavyweights also keeping close tabs on his progress, Bouaddi's future is likely to become one of the big transfer stories of the summer.
