Paris Saint-Germain are emerging as the latest club to consider an approach to sign Bernardo Silva at the end of the season, according to sources.

Silva’s nine-year stay at Manchester City is likely to come to an end after this season, when his contract expires.

The player has not made any formal decision, and Pep Guardiola has stated he would “love” him to stay and finish his career at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Barcelona, Juventus and Benfica are among the leading clubs to have already shown an interest in signing him, and it is understood that PSG are also intrigued by his situation.

Silva has been in excellent form this season, displaying a level of consistency and quality that has helped push City back into the Premier League title race.

The prospect of signing a free agent performing at such a high level is highly appealing, which is why top clubs are now preparing to make their offers for the Portuguese international.

Silva, 31, is taking his time to assess the situation and remains fully focused on City’s current campaign for now.

It is understood that Barcelona, Benfica and Juve have begun initial contacts to better understand his motivations at this stage of his career, as well as his expectations regarding personal terms.

Interest from those three clubs is well established, and the player himself is believed to be intrigued by the variety of options he will have to choose from.

But PSG are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely, having tracked him very closely in the past, and that could add a new layer of complication towards his decision if they step up interest.

The pace and style of French football may suit him at this stage of his career, and also give him an opportunity to continue to win trophies.

Silva has played in Ligue 1 previously, having spent time at Monaco before moving to Man City in 2017. He is expected to announce a decision on his future at the end of the season.
