Salernitana have drawn six consecutive matches after their away meeting with Torino ended in a 1-1 scoreline, which extended the home side’s winless run to four matches.

Salernitana travelled to Turin with aspirations of claiming their first away victory since January, and their hopes of securing all three points received a boost when Tonny Vilhena opened the scoring in the ninth minute.

Krzysztof Piatek neatly laid the ball into the path of Vilhena, who curled his effort past an unmoved Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

With the momentum in the visitor’s favour, they went agonisingly close to doubling their advantage by the 15-minute mark. Antonio Candreva, who netted a late equaliser against Inter Milan last time out, saw his deflected effort crash against the post to the relief of the home support inside the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Salernitana looked comfortable for the majority of the first half, but they were reminded of how precarious their one-goal lead was when Norbert Gyomber inadvertently guided the ball against his own crossbar from Nemanja Radonjic’s cut-back.

Ivan Juric’s half-time time words of wisdom appeared to have their desired effect, as Torino flew out of the blocks in the second period.

Ochoa was forced into action from Radonjic’s glancing header, but there was nothing the Mexican goalkeeper could do to prevent Antonio Sanabria from levelling in the 57th minute.

The Paraguay international collected Aleksei Miranchuk’s intelligent pass, before rifling home his ninth goal of the season.

Radonjic posed a threat to the Salernitana defence throughout the afternoon, and he attempted to conjure up a winning goal in the final 15 minutes, but Ochoa was equal to his driven effort.

As it proved, for the second time this season Salernitana and Torino played out a 1-1 draw, moving the visitors seven points clear of the drop zone and helping Juric’s side climb up to 10th position.
