20:28 CET - We are going all the way in Madrid as Jan-Lennard Struff takes the second set 6-3 against top seed Carlos Alcaraz.

19:43 CET - A tight first set has gone to Alcaraz with the Spaniard taking it 6-4 in just under an hour. 

18:48 CET - The Madrid Open men's final between Carlos Alcaraz (20), the reigning champion, and Jan-Lennard Struff (33), the first lucky loser ever to reach a Masters 1000 final, is underway.

17:31 CET - Huge congratulations to Andy Murray (35), who has won his first title since 2019, beating Tommy Paul (25) 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the Aix-en-Provence Challenger tournament.

He dropped down a level to get more time on clay ahead of the French Open after losing in the first round in Madrid and it was a smart move, with the run to the title moving him up 10 places in the world rankings.

17:20 CET - Victoria Azarenka (33) and Beatriz Haddad Maia (26) have won the women's doubles title, beating Coco Gauff (19) and Jessica Pegula (29) in just over an hour, 6-1, 6-4.

Turning our attention back to today, Azarenka and Haddad Maia have made the dream start to the women's doubles final, winning the first set 6-1 against Gauff and Pegula. 

09:32 CET - The world number one and world number two battled it out for the women's title yesterday and Aryna Sabalenka (24) prevailed, avenging the defeat Iga Swiatak (21) inflicted upon her in the final of the Stuttgart Open earlier this month. 

She says the rivalry developing between the two players is what women's tennis needs and hopes it continues.
