Having advanced to the semi-finals of the Conference League, Palace could be forgiven for taking their eye off the ball in the league. The home fans were briefly celebrating what they thought was a winning goal when substitute Ismaila Sarr lashed in on the turn from close range, yet a handball from Jean-Philippe Mateta saw the would-be breakthrough swiftly ruled out.
That proved to be the last major event as West Ham ultimately settled for what could be a very useful point in their bid for Premier League survival.
Nuno Espirito Santo may not have won any of his last six matches against Palace (D4, L2), but he won’t be too perturbed as the Hammers restored their two-point cushion over 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur with five to play.
Meanwhile, Palace missed the chance to register three H2H wins on the bounce for the first time in their history. However, it won’t concern the Eagles’ fans too much, as they sit firmly in mid-table, with Conference or even Europa League qualification still possible.
They don't have to worry about relegation, which has now been officially confirmed for bottom side Wolves.
