Kentucky quarterback, and former two-time national champion, Brock Vandagriff (22) decided to retire from football despite having one year of eligibility remaining, the school confirmed.

Vandagriff, a five-star recruit who originally committed to Oklahoma before switching to Georgia, won two National Championships with the Bulldogs as a backup quarterback for Stetson Bennett and Carson Beck over the course of three years.

He transferred to Kentucky in December 2023 and became the starter this season, throwing for 1,593 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions on 125 of 218 passing.

Vandagriff was benched twice this year and missed the game against Louisville due to a concussion. But fans have shown their support to Vandagriff after their big announcement, including head coach Mark Stoops.

Unfortunately, the Wildcats went 4-8 on the year and missed out on a bowl opportunity. This now marks their third losing season in the past 10 years. Their best record in that span was in 2021 when the team went 10-3 and won the Citrus Bowl, the same year Vandagriff was a backup for Georgia.
