Adelaide has locked in its popular Thursday night timeslot when hosting Collingwood in the first of the 2025 AFL season's two qualifying finals, whilst Geelong has moved its qualifying final from GMHBA Stadium to the MCG due to high demand and the game being the only one to take place in Victoria on the first weekend.
The host sides and venues for the two elimination finals - GWS Giants and Fremantle - have been locked in, but timeslots are yet to be determined pending Gold Coast Sun's rescheduled final round match against Essendon on Wednesday.
The travelling schedules of the two visiting teams - Hawthorn and Gold Coast/Bulldogs - will be taken into account when considering which of the two Saturday games will be in the afternoon and which will be in the evening.
Times for the two elimination finals will be confirmed on Thursday.
“Wednesday night’s rescheduled game still has an impact on the final eight but with the top four locked in we wanted to give fans some certainty and allow them to plan,” said AFL Head of Strategy and Scheduling Josh Bowler.
