Denmark's women's national team in badminton suffered a 3-1 defeat in the quarter-final of the Uber Cup against Indonesia on Thursday night.

Denmark never came close to pulling off what would have been a sensational win over Indonesia in the Uber Cup quarter-final. Denmark's women's badminton team was overmatched by a long way against powerhouse Indonesia in Thursday's quarter-final in the Uber Cup, the World Championship for the women's national team.

Only Line Kjaersfeldt in the second women's singles managed to live up to her status as favourite, but it was also the only Danish victory in the 1-3 defeat.

Line Christophersen, who has struggled to find her level in the tournament, never came close to a surprise against Putra Wardani.

In 40 minutes, the world No. six had defeated the Danish first singles player 21-12, 21-15.

Kjaersfeldt played a good match against Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi and took the vital victory 21-15, 21-16, which brought Denmark back on level terms in the team match.

A surprise seemed on the cards when Amalie Kudsk and Mette Werge pressed their opponents hard in the first set of the first women's doubles.

However, it ended with a set defeat of 19-21, and in the second set, the Danes never came close and lost 11-21.

Thus, Denmark had to win the last two matches to reach the semi-finals. But the Indonesians decided the quarter-final on their first possible opportunity.

Amalie Schulz could only occasionally match Ester Wardoyo, who ensured Indonesia's advancement with 21-13, 21-18.
