Los Angeles Angels top prospect Christian Moore (22) went hitless in his major league debut on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.

Following two rain delays, Moore went 0-3 with a strikeout in the team's 2-0 loss.

Moore also joined the league's No. 1 prospect, Jac Caglionone, this season with a hitless debut. But the hopes for the young second baseman will continue to remain high.

Moore, the 56th overall prospect in baseball, despite struggling in Double-A, turned it around in a big way at the next level.

The former eighth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft put up a stellar .350/.424/.575 slash line with four home runs and 18 RBI in 80 at-bats while in Triple-A this season.

Angels teammate Zach Neto was the same as Moore - seeing as how he was drafted in 2023 and called up a year later. Now, Neto is second on the Angels in batting average (.280) and is their primary leadoff hitter.

Nolan Schanuel, who is ahead of Neto as the team leader in batting average (.286), was drafted in 2023 as well but was ultimately called up to the majors just a month after being selected by the Angels with the 11th overall pick.

The youth movement has officially begun for an Angels team that currently sits in third place in the American League West division with a 33-35 record
