EuroBasket 2025 has entered the Semi-Final stage, with just four teams left battling it out for major glory. While team success remains the priority, several superstars will also have their eyes on being named MVP, an award handed out for the best player of the tournament.

Flashscore ranks the leading contenders for the EuroBasket 2025 MVP award.

1. Alperen Sengun (Turkey)

Alperen Sengun has had a simply stellar EuroBasket campaign. The Houston Rockets star has been utterly imperious, displaying his supreme all-round game, leading Turkey to the Semi-Finals and eyeing a first EuroBasket title.

The 23-year-old has been named Player of the Game in all seven of his appearances, averaging 21.6 points per game (seventh highest), 7.1 assists (second), 10.9 rebounds (second) and 0.9 blocks per game (12th). He also has a 32 efficiency rating (second).

In the Quarter-Final meeting with Poland, Sengun registered a 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists game, becoming the youngest player in tournament history to register a triple-double.

As it stands, he is the favourite to take home the MVP crown, and taking Turkey to the final could be enough to seal it.

2. Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece)

Nicknamed 'the Greek Freak', Giannis Antetokounmpo is comfortably the best player left in EuroBasket, and he has been his usual dominant self all through the tournament.

Averaging a stunning 29.8 points per game (second-highest) and nine rebounds (fourth), the Milwaukee Bucks' two-time NBA MVP has carried a team that hasn't actually played that well for a lot of the competition. In the only game he didn't play, Greece were defeated by Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With a 32 efficiency rating, he has also been happy to pull up and shoot from mid-range, something you don't see very often from Giannis. His starring performance came against Israel in the last 16, where he registered 37 points and 10 rebounds.

There is a good chance that Greece's Semi-Final clash with Turkey could decide the winner of the MVP award.

3. Luka Doncic (Slovenia)

Despite his Slovenia team falling at the Quarter-Final stage, the fact that Luka Doncic is still so high on this list showcases just how incredible he has been this tournament.

The Los Angeles Lakers guard leads EuroBasket in efficiency (36.6) and points per game (34.7) by some margin, while perhaps somewhat surprisingly sitting at the summit of the steals per game leaderboard (2.7). He is also averaging 7.1 assists per game (third highest).

He had a whopping 42-point game against Italy in the last 16, 39 points in losing causes against France and Germany, as well as a 26-point triple-double (26-10-11) against Belgium.

Luka looks fitter and, as a result, perhaps even better than ever. In all likelihood, Sengun or Giannis will probably get their hands on the MVP award because their teams remain in the competition. But if either of their form dips dramatically in the closing stages, it may be hard to look past Luka's scary numbers.

4. Franz Wagner (Germany)

Germany's success in recent years has come from their team play and unity, and that has been the same this tournament. However, the Orlando Magic's Franz Wagner has had a really good EuroBasket, taking centre stage slightly ahead of Dennis Schroder.

Wagner is averaging 21 points per game (eighth highest) with an efficiency rating of 23.3 (ninth). He had a starring performance in the Quarter-Final victory over Slovenia, registering 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Realistically, Wagner's chances of winning the MVP award rely on Germany going on and winning the competition, and he himself having an explosive end to the competition.

5. Lauri Markkanen (Finland)

Finland have been one of the stories of EuroBasket, producing a seismic upset over Serbia in the last 16 as they reached the Semi-Finals for the first time ever. Although they have played some fine team basketball, they would not be here without Lauri Markkanen.

The Utah Jazz man is averaging 24.7 points per game (third highest) and 7.9 rebounds per game (12th), and has had some massive performances in the competition. When they stunned Serbia, Markkanen scored 29 points, and in the group stage, he had a 43-point game against Great Britain.

The reason why he is the last name on this list is purely down to the fact that Finland are very unlikely to get past Germany, so Markkanen won't be able to go any further. However, if he and his team can produce another miracle and find their place in the showpiece event this weekend, then his chances would skyrocket.
