Philadelphia 76ers star player Joel Embiid (30) will miss at least one week after suffering a sinus fracture last week, according to the team.

The injury occurred during the team's matchup against the Indiana Pacers when Embiid was accidentally hit in the face by Bennedict Mathurin. Trainers attended to Embiid after he went down on the floor and began grabbing his cheek.

Embiid will miss the team's next three games against the Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and San Antonio Spurs. He has only played in seven of the team's 23 games this year, averaging 20.3 points and 7.7 rebounds.

After missing the start of the season with knee soreness and shoving a reporter in the locker room after a slam piece that mentioned Embiid's late brother, the former MVP is having a rough 2024 season.

The 76ers are currently 7-16 and are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference. Teammate and rookie standout Jared McCain is out for the foreseeable future after tearing his meniscus, piling on to an already devastating season for the Philadelphia squad.
