The Chicago Bears released linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on Thursday ahead of the free agency period on March 11th.

Edmunds, 27, was originally permitted to seek a trade during the final week of February. Now, the eight-year veteran is free to sign with any team starting next Wednesday.

H's coming off a 2025 season in which he put up 112 tackles, nine pass deflections, and four interceptions.

Edmunds is known to be one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL. Since the Buffalo Bills drafted him 16th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, Edmunds has recorded at least 100 tackles in every single season he's been in the league.

He's also a known ball-hawk among linebackers, totaling 24 pass deflections and nine interceptions in the past three seasons alone.

The Virginia native is also one of the most durable at his position. Since entering the league, Edmunds has never missed more than four games in a season.

After spending the first five years of his career (2018-2022) with the Bills, he spent the next three with the Bears. Now it's time for the two-time Pro Bowler's next chapter.
