Former Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is set to meet with the Philadelphia Phillies via video call sometime this week, according to multiple MLB insiders.

Bichette is coming off a season where he was tied with Luis Arraez (San Diego Padres) for second in the league in total hits (181). He fell just three hits short of Kansas City's Bobby Witt Jr. (184), despite playing in 18 fewer games.

He finished the 2025 season with a .311/.357/.483 slashline, 18 home runs, 94 RBI, and four stolen bases.

The Phillies recently signed Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly in the same role for the upcoming season. Should Bichette sign with the Phillies, he'll be playing alongside his former teammate in J.T. Realmuto

Bichette has spent all six years of his career with the Blue Jays since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

The 27-year-old and two-time All-Star has hit at least .290 in every single season he's been in the league except one - 2024, the year he played in only 81 games after sustaining a right calf strain and fracturing his right middle finger.

Bichette missed time this past season after being diagnosed with a left knee sprain following a home plate collision.

Other teams interested in Bichette include the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs.
