The Buffalo Bills released defensive backs Taron Johnson, Taylor Rapp, and Dane Jackson, along with veteran wide receiver Curtis Samuel, on Friday before the free agency period begins on March 11th.

Johnson, 29, spent all eight years of his career with the Bills (2018-2025). He enters free agency after putting up 57 tackles - the fewest by him in a season since 2019 (50) - in 13 games (eight starts). His time ends in Buffalo with 572 tackles, eight sacks, eight forced fumbles, and six interceptions.

His release created $8.7 million in cap space.

Rapp, 28, is also coming off the worst year of his career after he played in just six games (six starts) before his 2025 season came to an end when he underwent knee surgery. His release creates around $3 million in cap space.

Jackson, 29, only played in three games for the Bills in 2025. The veteran corner has suffered significant neck and head injuries over the past three seasons.

Samuel, 29, only put up 81 yards and one touchdown in six games last season after dealing with neck and elbow injuries. His release creates around $6.1 million in cap space.
