The Indianapolis Colts will bring in veteran quarterback Philip Rivers for a workout on Tuesday after starter Daniel Jones went down for the season with a torn Achilles, while backup Riley Leonard is being considered week-to-week with a strained knee ligament.

At 44 years old, the last time Rivers took a snap was in 2020...for the Colts. He announced his retirement a year later.

Indianapolis, who have been atop the AFC South division for most of the season, are now third with an 8-4 record after falling to their division rival Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

In 2020, Rivers led the Colts to an 11-5 record after throwing for 4,169 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a 68.0 completion percentage and 97.0 passer rating.

He spent the previous 16 seasons of his successful NFL career as a member of the now Los Angeles Chargers

Rivers is seventh on the all-time passers list with 63,440 yards and sixth all-time in touchdowns (421).
