Thanks to strong goalkeeping and quick feet, Denmark overcame Tunisia Thursday night by a scoreline of 32-21 in a game that was effectively decided within a quarter of an hour.

Before the tournament the reigning Danish World champions were already huge favourites and in all honesty the Danish hosts have so far also made it look incredibly easy.

While Denmark secured the World Cup trophy in 2023, Tunesia won the Presidents Cup trophy the same year which means that 24 places divided those two nations and as the game wore on there was nothing to indicate that the gap between them have been reduced.

Just 16 minutes into this very one-sided game, the match was pretty much already decided as the co-hosts led 11-1.

After the huge win over Algeria, the Danes followed up by beating Tunisia 32-21 on Thursday evening in a match with at least two classes of difference between the two teams.

Emil Nielsen made an impressive 13 saves in the first half for a 65% save rate, while Mathias Gidsel accounted for eight goals during the same period.

The Danish hosts took their foot off the gas after the bright start but still managed to head into the interval with a comfortable 10-goal-lead (17-7).

With the hosts intent on saving energy for the rest of the tournament, Tunisia were given a chance to improve in the second half where the reigning champions looked far less focused, and Nielsen were replaced by Kevin Moller as he failed to maintain his high standards.

The Danish hosts, however, never surrendered their control with the match and kept an 11-goal advantage at the final buzzer.

Mathias Gidsel won the Man of the Match award as he finished the game with nine goals and eight assists, while Anouar Ben Abdallah netted five times for Tunisia.

Denmark and Italy, who lead lead Group B with four points, will now clash on Saturday in a match that will decide who will take the maximum number of points into the main round
