Troy Parrott is AZ's new striker, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 22-year-old Irishman transfers for around €8 million (£6.7m) from Tottenham Hotspur, after a spell on loan at Excelsior last season.

Parrott could not avoid relegation for the Kralingers despite two hat-tricks in the play-offs. In the regular league season, he scored 10 goals in 25 games.

The striker is expected to succeed Vangelis Pavlidis, who transferred to Benfica, in Alkmaar.

Parrott joined Tottenham's youth academy in 2017. He made four official appearances for Spurs and was loaned out for four seasons to clubs from lower English leagues before settling in Rotterdam.
