Liverpool have identified an options to replace defensive midfielder Fabinho, who recently signed for Saudi club Al-Ittihad, in André of Fluminense.

The Reds may be interested in signing the player this summer, but Fluminense would resist until at least the end of the Brazilian football season.

Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy says Liverpool have already made contact with André's club, but are yet to make a proposal to the player.

Spanish newspaper AS recently reported interest in the Brazilian from fellow Premier League club Fulham.

The London club had a bid of around £18 million rejected, but remain interested. Sporting are also keen on André, who they'd like to replace Manuel Ugarte.
