In a classy move, the Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver Christian Watson to a one-year, $13.25 million extension on Tuesday as he continues to rehab from his torn ACL.

Watson was originally set to become a free agent after this season, but the Packers made sure to stick by one of their best young talents despite his injury.

The team estimates Watson could return around the Week 6 mark after he was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. It is also a week after the Packers have their bye.

Watson set a career-high last season with 620 receiving yards on just 29 receptions, averaging an unbelievable 21.4 yards per reception, along with two touchdowns in 15 games.

The 26-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Packers. He made a name for himself during his rookie season after posting a career-high seven touchdowns with 611 receiving yards on 41 receptions through 14 games (11 starts).

This isn't the first time Watson has dealt with leg injuries. In 2023, he suffered a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the first three weeks of the season. He later re-aggravated the same injury, which eventually forced him to miss the rest of the season, playing in only nine games.

Green Bay kicked off their 2025 season with a Week 1 beatdown of the Detroit Lions. They'll be hosting the Washington Commanders on September 11th for Week 2's Thursday night game.
