Icelandic coach, Dagur Sigurdsson, who manages the Croatian national team, said that he was furious with the organization of this year's European Championships when he spoke at the press conference ahead of tomorrow's semi-final against Germany

On Thursday afternoon, the Croatian national team arrived at their hotel in Silkeborg, and shortly afterwards, Dagur Sigurdsson had to travel to Herning for the official press conference ahead of Friday's semi-final against Germany.

This did not sit well with the Croatian national coach, who had a lot on his mind when he was first asked what he expected from the semi-final against the Germans.

"First of all, I must say that I have not had time to look forward to it, because we only arrived today at 14.30 and then I had to come here."

"We are not staying here, it's a bit curious, so I had a 35-minute trip here, and then I have to participate in this circus, and then I have to drive 35 minutes back. So it will be 17.00 or 18.00 before I get back to the hotel. It is an absolute disaster", Dagur Sigurdsson said at the press conference.

The Croatians have repeatedly expressed their dissatisfaction with having to play mid-round matches on Tuesday and Wednesday in Malmo, before having to spend five hours on the bus on Thursday to drive to Herning.

The Croatian national team is staying at a hotel in Silkeborg – and not in Herning – and therefore Icelandic Dagur Sigurdsson was anything but happy that he had to show up for the press conference.

"It is the confirmation that the EHF does not care about the players and the teams. They (EHF, ed.) are like a fast food chain. They do not care about the quality; they just sell. It is like an event. They book some artists, do a good show, and have a great press conference. It does not matter that we have had a four-hour trip from Malmo. It does not matter", Sigurdsson said.

Croatia will face Germany at the Jyske Bank Boxen Arena at 17.45 CET on Friday evening.
