Lack of line players could put Denmark in a precarious position before the final at the European Championships against Germany.

Denmark began the European Championships with potentially six line players in the squad; now there is one left.

One by one, they have been ruled out due to injury, and for Sunday's European Championship final against Germany, Magnus Saugstrup is possibly the only one in the squad whose normal position is in central defence.

On 16 January, Denmark played their first match in the tournament with four line players in the squad. Two days lates Lukas Jorgensen was forced to leave the squad with a serious cruciate knee ligament injury.

On 22 January, national team coach Nikolaj Jacobsen summoned Andreas Magaard. Later that day, it became apparent that Magaard had severe problems with his knee that made it impossible for him to take part. The last line player that could have been called up for the squad, Frederik Ladefoged, was also unfit.

On 28 January, Emil Bergholt sustained a foot injury against Norway that was going to keep him out for the rest of the tournament. And on Friday, Simon Hald took a blow to the head in the semi-final against Iceland and was taken to the hospital. It's still uncertain whether he will be able to play against Germany.

Denmark take on Germany in the Jyske Bank Boxen at 18.00 in the final of the European Championships.
