With only three matches left to play in the domestic league, crisis-hit KIF Kolding have decided to sack coach Sebastian Seifert.

Kolding, who used to be a virtual powerhouse in Danish domestic handball and won their last Danish title ten years ago, on Saturday lost 42-27 at home against Skjern Handball and are left stranded at the bottom of Herreligaen with only three matches to go.

This has now forced the KIF Kolding director Christan Hjermind to take a drastic choice in order to avoid relegation.

"This is a difficult and heavy decision for us to make. We all had the ambition to achieve better results, but we must acknowledge that we as a club have not managed to create the necessary conditions to achieve them. Therefore, we strongly believe that a change is necessary", says director Christian Hjermind.

Instead, current assistant coach Kristian Danielsen will take over as head coach in a collaboration with Julie Loop, who is the head of the club's academy and Under-17 coach Kenneth Jørgensen

This is the second time during the season that KIF Kolding have sacked their coach. At the end of October, Kristian Kristensen suffered the same fate after a poor start to the season.

Kolding are without a win in 21 matches. Their last win dates back to September last year, when they won away against Ribe-Esbjerg.
