Nordsjaelland Handball has decided to terminate its partnership with head coach Tobias Aagaard with immediate effect after finding his manner of communicating with young players at the club unacceptable, says the club on its website.

The reason is not directly related to sporting performance but stems from a manner of communicating with young players that the club deems "unacceptable."

"In the last few days, the club has been made aware of a way of communicating with young players that Nordsjaelland Handball finds unacceptable and incompatible with the responsibilities and values associated with the role of coach at the club," the press release states, with Director Kim Scheuer Nielsen adding:

"At Nordsjaelland Handball, our coaches must be both role models and figures of trust. This applies especially to their work with our young players. In our assessment, that responsibility has not been upheld in a manner we can accept, and therefore the partnership is ending," says Kim Scheuer Nielsen.

Tobias Aagaard was promoted from Head of Talent Development to head coach in July, following Laurids Sogaard’s move to the Norwegian club Elverum.

Nordsjaelland Handball has not elaborated on the nature of Aagaard's unacceptable communication, and the club will not comment further on the matter.

Nicolaj Jensen is being promoted from assistant coach to acting head coach until a permanent solution is found, Nordsjaelland Handball adds.
