Odense on Saturday afternoon completed an amazing feat in the Danish domestic league when they won 34-31 away against Aarhus Handball and thereby finished the regular season with a perfect record, 36 wins out of a possible 36.
The win for Odense at the same time condemned Aarhus Handball to relegation.
Aarhus had two points more than both EH Aalborg and Skanderborg going into the last round but as EH Aalborg and Skanderborg won their matches at the bottom of the league, Aarhus Handball were dealt a cruel fate.
EH Aalborg surprisingly won 32-30 at home against Sonderjyske, while Skanderborg won more convincingly 36-27 away against Bjerringbro.
Team Esbjerg secured second spot in the regular season thanks to a last-gasp equalizer from Sarah Dekker against Ikast Handball to make it 28-28.
Odense will carry four points into the playoffs while Team Esbjerg will carry two.
