The 2024-25 Liiga Playoff Quarter-Finals will be remembered for being one-sided, as Lukko, Ilves and SaiPa all secured their spots in the last four without losing a match, while KalPa are firmly in the driving seat against Assat.

Regular season winners Lukko had their quietest night in terms of goalscoring in the postseason so far, but it was more than enough to beat Vaasan Sport, 3-1, and move on to the next round.

Sport had their chances in the first period, but fell behind in the final three minutes when Eric Gelinas sent a hopeful puck into a dangerous area which somehow went through the crowd and into the net.

There was nothing fortunate about Lukko's second, five minutes into the second period - Niclas Almari finished off a nice team move by picking his spot and firing home.

Late in the second, Steven Jandric made it three with his first since game one of this series, and though Theodor Johnsson grabbed Sport's customary goal, it was once again too little for the 11th-seeded team.

The Rauma side now have a break before the Semi-Finals begin on April 11th.

The reigning champions are out after Ilves wrapped up their sweep in fine style, thrashing their Tampere rivals Tappara 6-1.

It looked like we were in for another close contest after no scoring in the first period, and then it might finally be Tappara's night when Julius Mattila gave them the lead on a powerplay.

It took until the 38th minute for Ilves to find the net, but once Simon Johansson equalised, it was one-way traffic for the designated away side at the Nokia Arena.

Ville Meskanen turned the match on its head just eight seconds of play after the equaliser, slotting home after Carl Klingberg had done well to win the puck back in the attacking zone.

Matias Mantykivi got himself on the scoresheet in a third period which belonged to Samuli Ratinen, who scored a hat-trick in a relentless display from Ilves.

The Lynx now await their opponents for their Semi-Final, which also begins on April 11th.

IFK Helsinki's Playoff campaign never got going - the fourth seeds have been knocked out without winning a game against SaiPa, who rounded off their duel with a 6-2 win.

The capital side were ahead at the end of the first period courtesy of an early Micke Asten strike, but four goals without reply in the second - including one each for the Petman brothers, Mikko and Ville - put the home side in control, even if Vincent Marleau pulled one back.

Miska Siikonen and Otto Hokkanen completed the rout, sending SaiPa through to face one of the top two in the last four.

KalPa look firm favourites to join them, as they picked up their third win in a row to take a 3-1 series lead over Assat. They needed overtime to do it, eventually securing a 2-1 win on the road.

Patrik Juhola gave the Aces the early lead, but a third goal in the series for Patrick Curry levelled the scores in the second, and that was how it remained until 60 minutes were played

In the extra period, Curry was involved again to set up the winning goal for KalPa, finished off by Jere Karjalainen for what could be the most important goal of the series.

Assat now must win three in a row to keep their season alive, while KalPa can win the series at home tomorrow evening.
