Skinner joins a very young and promising Sharks team that also recently acquired veteran enforcer Ryan Reaves in a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 33-year-old Skinner posted 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 games during his lone year with the Oilers, the worst number he's put up in a full season since his 2014-2015 campaign (18 goals, 13 assists) for the Carolina Hurricanes.
Skinner was drafted seventh overall in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Canes and wasted no time whatsoever before making his debut that same year at the age of 18, putting up a stellar 31 goals and 32 assists, earning an All-Rookie Team selection and the Calder Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year).
He spent eight years with the Hurricanes before ending up as a member of the Buffalo Sabres, where he would spend another six before his one-year move to Edmonton.
After being in the Stanley Cup Finals, it looks like Skinner is all about making the biggest pay day now that he's reaching the end of his career.
