The Ottawa Senators secured a win against the Nashville Predators on Monday night's one-game slate to extend their streak to five games.

The Senators were dealing on Monday night, putting up a total of 39 shots to Nashville's 27. Filip Forsberg (19) got the Preds on the board first in the second period to take a 1-0 lead before the Senators responded with two straight goals from Adam Gaudette (16) and Jake Sanderson (5).

Jonathan Marchessault (16) took advantage of the power-play for the Preds to tie it up 2-2, but Ottawa responded with three straight unanswered goals from Shane Pinto (11),  David Perron (1), and Ridly Greig (9) to close it out 5-2.

Ottawa is now 29-20-4 and is just six points out of first place in the Atlantic Division.

Meanwhile, the Predators have now lost five straight games and remain one of the worst teams in the league with an 18-27-7 record, third worst in the the NHL.

The win gives the Senators the 2-0 season sweep.
