Monday night proved to be a thrilling end to Week 5 as the Jacksonville Jaguars took down the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 after a game-winning touchdown drive.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have now started the season 4-1 for the first time since 2007 - a year they eventually went on to post a 11-5 record.  They are now tied with the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills for the best record in the AFC.

Kansas City now moves to 2-3 on the year and are now in third place in the AFC West division.

Now, let's get into the breakdown of how this win unfolded for the Jaguars!

1st half

The Kansas City Chiefs put up 236 total yards of offence in the first half alone, which came with a pair of touchdowns.

After three punts to start the game, two from Jacksonville and one from Kansas City, the Chiefs put up the first points of the game with a controversial touchdown.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a TD to tight end Travis Kelce, but originally had a flag thrown on the play for a pick. After the refs discussed, they changed the call and ruled it a touchdown to cap off a nine-play, 72-yard drive.

Jacksonville was about to respond with a score of their own on an eight-play, 60-yard drive.

During 4th and 1 at the Chiefs' goal line, quarterback Trevor Lawrence tried to dive over the pile and the Chiefs punched the ball to force a fumble and a turnover on downs.

Kansas City responded by going 97 yards on just five plays in under three minutes for their second touchdown of the game to go up 14-0.

In order, the drive started with a 32-yard run from running back Kareem Hunt, passes to Xavier Worthy (five yards), Hollywood Brown (16 yards), and Tyquan Thornton (34 yards), before Mahomes ran it in himself for nine yards.

Jacksonville would finally respond with a touchdown of their own after a 13-play, 70-yard drive, taking eight minutes off the clock before heading into halftime.

After taking a sack on the second play, a false start on the third, Kansas City was wrung up for a 13-yard pass interference that kept the drive alive.

It ended with a three-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to Parker Washington. Jacksonville would finish the half with 162 total yards on 31 plays.

Both teams recorded three penalties and 10 first downs.

Second half

Mahomes had a rushing touchdown, so Lawrence thought to have one of his own to tie the game coming out of the half.

The opportunity for the Jaguars came off a 44-yard reception from the rookie Travis Hunter, catching the ball in between two defenders that kept the drive alive in what could be the play of the game.

Jacksonville flipped the script after the Chiefs drove all the way down the field, though.

The NFL's new interception leader Devin Lloyd recorded his fourth of the season for 99 yards to the house to put the Jaguars up 21-14 entering the fourth quarter.

After Kansas City's Trent McDuffie picked off Lawrence deep in Jacksonville's own territory, it didn't take long for the Chiefs to retaliate after Kareem Hunt ran it in to tie it all up 21-21.

Following a Jaguars field goal to go up 24-21, Hunt would put up his second touchdown of the night to put the Chiefs up 28-24 with 1:45 left in the game.

With 30 seconds left in the game, Kansas City commits a crucial pass interference to a pass in the endzone that put the ball on their one-yard line for Jacksonville to eventually take the lead.

Lawrence, after stumbling off the snap, eventually ran it in to take the 31-28 lead with 23 seconds left to go to eventually win the game.
