Unsurprisingly, the league leaders cranked up the pressure in the first half. Both Ismaelo Ganiou and Wesley Said came close with headers from corners, with the former directing his just over and the latter forcing Guillaume Restes into a great save down low.
Toulouse were then reduced to 10 men when Emersonn produced a horrible challenge on Odsonne Edouard, but Lens could not capitalise before half-time. Ganiou rounded off the scoring, netting with practically the last kick of the match as he struck powerfully past Restes to ensure the visitors remain the only side yet to drop a point from a winning position in Ligue 1 this season (W13).
Toulouse’s misery was compounded when Djibril Sidibe was stretchered off with a bad injury right at the death, ending their three-game winning run in all competitions.
